Stevens family update

Tom was promoted to Lab Assistant and then demoted again 3 TIMES!! He's currently a lab assistant, but hopefully he'll move UP rather than down.
Mayzie grew into a very adorable toddler. She's a nearly perfect Cancer with at least 8 points in each personality slot.

Alex taught Mayzie to walk and use the toilet, because he's nice like that.

Alex had his first kiss with Miranda (and the second date was much better than the first).
They then became "best friends", but you don't stick your tongue in your best friend's mouth, do you?

The triplets had a wonderful birthday with much cake.

James grew into a Family Sim who wants to become a Captain Hero.

Angelo became Blueberry Meadows' first Fortune Sim with a LTW of reaching the top of the adventurer career.

Terrance became a Popularity Sim who wants to have 20 BFFs before he dies.
All 4 Stevens boys got A+s in school, and Angelo received the SimCity Scholar Grant.
Tomorrow we visit the Cummings, and finally get to see what happens with the Dominic/Jared thing.

Bridget's pregnancy obsession

As much as Bridget loved her boys, she knew in her heart something was missing. There as no delicate pink-wearing daughter among the mud-covered, testosterone-filled males. She managed to convince Tom to have another child.

After two tries, Bridget discovered she was pregnant one day at the kitchen sink.

She continued to get bigger as the days went by, but was lucky enough not to have any morning sickness.
Finally, the big day came. All the boys rushed to the bathroom and were a little shocked to see a baby coming out of mom's hoo-hoo.

It looks like most of the boys are either levitating or about to barf.

Finally, Bridget had given birth to the daughter she'd always wanted. Her name is Mayzie Stevens, and most of her brothers hate her. Here she is with Alex. Awww.

Meet the Stevens family

Tom and Bridget Stevens were highschool sweethearts that had planned a wonderful future: a big house, 2 kids, and a high-paying job in the science field for Tom.
Bridget became pregnant with their first child, Alex, shortly after they were married. It wasn't until she became pregnant again that all the trouble started.
When the 9 months were up, Bridget gave birth to not one, but three baby boys in varying shades of skin color.
With food prices skyrocketing and four hungry babies to feed, the Stevens moved into a small house in Blueberry Meadows, where they could live off the land.
It wasn't until later that they realized the grass wasn't green because the land was fertile - the gardeners sprayed it that color. Blueberry Meadows was just another suburb.

Bridget was the family rock. She made lunches for the boys every day and had learned to multitask in every sense of the word - for instance, none of the other nursing mothers had been able to breastfeed three children and make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for the fourth, all at the same time. She hadn't latched on to the idea of 21st century feminism and was perfectly happy being a stay-at-home mother. Though she'd already given birth to four rambunctious boys and had exhausted the hospital's supply of morphine, Bridget desperately wanted two more children (hopefully girls). The quiet Irish Virgo could often be found cooking, cleaning, or reading.

Tom helped his wife with the kids and household chores as much as he could, but he had other things on his mind, such as reaching the top of the science career. After a long, ultimately unsuccessful stint in the music career, he'd finally landed the job of his dreams - working as a test subject in a laboratory. He, too, was a Virgo whose idea of quality time was sitting next to his wife on the couch while reading a book (this suited Bridget just fine, however).

Alex was somewhat of a stud. Wearing his worn leather jacket with John Travolta as his inspiration, he'd perfected the devil-may-care scowl and slouched attractively against buildings just for the heck of it.
There was just one thing wrong with him: he was a nerd.
Not to stereotype Knowledge Sims, but John Travolta certainly hadn't wanted to be a scientist like his father. (Though he had wanted to be a pilot and was now one, as well as an overrated actor and creepy Scientologist.)
So Alex tried to keep his mouth shut and hoped girls would ignore the vast number of science classes he was taking and would instead find his aloof Gemini-ism "hot".

Of the triplets, Angelo was the leader. A world renowned joker and class clown, you either loved the boy or wanted to strangle him (his brothers mostly wanted to strangle him).
Angelo also had a curious love for the underbellies of horses, though no one quite knew why.

Don't let the look on his face fool you; James was a kind and loving soul with a wonderful sense of humor.
Screw that.
The last part was essentially true, but James was in some ways Angelo's opposite. He wasn't as nice or funny and definitely not as extroverted, but cared deeply about rights of all kinds - LGBT Rights, Human Rights, Animal Rights, Miranda Rights....
Even if his personality was a little bit off, James was by far the best-looking triplet.

Terrance was a weirdo. The pirate costume he had worn since the age of 3. It didn't fit quite right, and he didn't particularly like pirates, but he wore it all the same. Normally the weird ones are freakish introverts that hide in dark corners, but Terrance loved people and made a new friend every day.
Perhaps this was why he and Angelo didn't quite get along: they were always in competition to see who could be the popularest (which isn't a word, but we're talking about 10-year-olds).
Now all the boys were at public school, Tom had a job as a Test Subject, and Bridget was trying to get pregnant. Do we really want to know what happens next?

Chandler family update

Edison was promoted to con artist, but lost one creativity point after a screwed up business deal.

Pheobe STILL hasn't gotten a job (how will she become chief of staff if she doesn't?), but she did max out her cooking skill.
She and her mother are very good friends with Dan Cummings, but Pheobe has a very strong attraction for him.
Hopefully this little crush doesn't develop into an all-out marital affair.
Both Miranda and Dominic got A+'s in school and received the SimCity Scholar Grant. Dominic studied hard and was rewarded with the Kim Metro Hygienics Scolarship. This happy event was marred by the fact that his parents had given his sister a car.

Dominic made best friends with Jared and tried hitting on his (Jared's) twin brother Jason, but they had horrible chemistry.
All this socializing and studying was pretty exhausting for Dominic.

Miranda was promoted to the top of the law enforcement career and became an overacheiever. Her mother was thrilled. She then decided to take a page out of her brother's book and go on a blind date. She blew ALL of the family's money on this one date and it didn't even go well. It was with Alex Stevens, a neighbor she hadn't met yet. He was cute, though, so she's considering calling him again.

We're done with the Chandlers for now, and are going on to the Stevens. Which means Alex will probably have to call Miranda himself.

The weather outside is frightful

It's been raining a lot at the Chandler house.
I JUST got "The Sims 2: Seasons" and it's pretty entertaining.
Some of the trees were struck by lightning and it caused a pretty big fire.

Miranda was talking to Ralph Jorgen, her next door neighbor, when he was struck by lightning.

He then proceeded to pee his pants. Miranda didn't seem to mind, though.

Who doesn't love fall?

Meet the Chandler family

This family would not exist without the parents, Phoebe and Edison Chandler. It also wouldn't exist without their parents, or the parents of their parents, or their parent's parents, but that's too confusing.

Phoebe and Edison, both Knowledge Sims, met at Academie le Tour in 1991, three months before either of them graduated. They were both taking GenEd, a required class, and bonded over an insanely boring professor. Afterwards, they discussed their life goals and had a little woohoo. Phoebe became pregnant with twins and the two wed right after graduation.
Edison, a Scorpio, is 100% Native American and is quite proud of it. He was quite disappointed when the kids didn't look a thing like him. His life goal is to become a criminal mastermind.
Phoebe, a Capricorn, claims to be a hodgepodge of European ethnicities, but she her ears are too pointy to be French and she has freakishly purple eyes, as do her mother and children. Whether or not she is Elvish probably won't affect her path to becoming chief of staff, which is HER life time goal.

Dominic is Blueberry Meadows' first bisexual. A Virgo, Dominic had always been annoyingly introspective and sensitive. He was a Family Sim who wanted nothing more than a family of well-educated children when he grow up, and loved Edgar Allen Poe, Maya Angelou, and Robert Frost. After much soul-searching, Dominic finally admitted that guys are just as attractive as girls and joined the LGBT community.

Miranda, Dominic's Pisces twin sister, was found to be very beautiful (but not easy) and was often surrounded by male admirers (and their jealous wives). She didn't feel all that agressive or dominant, but found herself wanting to be a captain hero when she grew up.

Yes, Cynthia is the old woman checking out her granddaughter. Cynthia and Miranda were very much alike: they were both Pisces and Popularity Sims, had black hair and purple eyes, and voted Democrat (rebelling against Phoebe and Edison's staunch Republicanism). Cynthia had wanted to be an army general when she was younger, but knew her glory days were over and that that particular goal could never be reached.
The Chandlers moved from SimCity when Edison decided to take a rather permanent sabbatical to the suburbs. They bought a house that had only 2 bedrooms, 1 less bedroom than was promised in the add. Other than that, it was clean and there were no vermin infesting the bathroom or kitchen cupboards. Both Miranda and Edison got jobs immediately (though Miranda was sick for a week and lost out on a week's pay).

Dominic had already made friends with Jared Cummings, the nicer of the two Cummings twins, and shared his first kiss with him (which I, unfortunately, did not get a picture of).
Jared didn't seem to think much of this monumental moment in young Dominic's life and didn't want to pursue the relationship any further. So Dominic turned to matchmaker and asked for a blind date.

The date did not go well, and there will not be a second.

Jorgen family update

Betsy and Jeannie were doing fairly well in the military field when Betsy failed her examination and lost a week's pay, meaning the family was broke.
Way to go, Betsy.
But she made up for it by getting promoted to Recruit, which is the top of the career track.
The pay still sucks, but hey.
Jeannie took the same exam and was demoted to Paintball Assistant for cheating. She was finally promoted again, but it'll take longer to get to the top of the career track. Argh. Those darn chance cards.

After lots of hard work and studying, all three Jorgen children received A+'s in school.
Severin got the SimCity Scholar's Grant for good grades.

He also gained a cooking skill point and made some delicious spaghetti for the entire family.

Unfortunately, all this activity exhausted him. Unable to find a bed in time (and refusing to sleep with his grandma), he passed out near the recliner like a wuss.

Yes, this IS a picture of Jeannie spying on the paperboy as he takes a wizz in her bathroom. Don't worry, they're best friends.
All of the Jorgens have made progress on the friend front. Ralph made 5 new best friends and is well on his way to meeting his life goal.
Bex brought home James Stevens and they got along great.
Severin brought home Jason Cummings, but they didn't get along so great, as Severin is the WORST host ever.
And he thinks he'll be a GREAT husband and father. :P

Bex and Tessa's birthdays happened to fall on the same date, so Ralph threw a party for both of them. There were two cakes and pop music blasting from the newly acquired radio. Here Severin is dancing with his neighbor Miranda Chandler. Thankfully, they have horrible chemistry, and Miranda isn't interested in raising a family.

Bex grew up well, and her newly chosen aspiration is...*gasp*...ROMANCE??? So far, Bex is the only Romance Sim in Blueberry Meadows. This was sort of a shock for her grandparents, but when she informed them that she intended to become a professional athlete after college, they calmed down.

Tessa grew up well, too, although she is sort of an ugly duckling. How did that happen? She was so cute before. Like Severin, she is a Family Sim, and wants to graduate three children from college. First she needs a husband who is either accepting or blind. Or drunk.

The police coming to break things up is the mark of a great party. All the guests had a good time and there was plenty of cake left over. Mission accomplished!

Tomorrow we start with the Chandler family.
Previews from the Chandlers:
"Dominic! Stop wearing my clothes!"
"I'll crush the gay out of you, boy!"
"Grandma! Put on a shirt!"
"Hey, THAT'S not your wife..."
